Depression

Depression rarely looks the way people expect. It can be visible sadness and tears, or it can be numbness, exhaustion, irritability, and a flat “why do I feel empty?” that you can’t explain to anyone. It can be a brief season triggered by a hard event, or a heavier, longer-running weight. All of it is real, and all of it can get better.

These articles help you recognize depression in its many forms, understand the difference between situational and clinical depression, find coping skills that genuinely help, and know what to say when someone you love is struggling. Written by Jeff Marcino, Psy.D, LPC.
